Nov 22, 2023 · In my case, the DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION BSOD when trying to run Microsoft Defender Antivirus Offline Scan seems to have been caused by Bitlocker. I ensured I had the latest Windows updates, suspended bitlocker, and then ran the offline scan. It worked fine. Of course, that may not solve your issue (YMMV).

As this process is happening my CPU usage shoots up to 100% and my fans start spining really fast. After about three quarters of the way through the scan (and my CPU usage still at 100%) my computer locks up and instantly goes to BSOD.
