The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) J94 Class is a class of steam locomotive that was formed when 75 former "Austerity" 0-6-0STs were purchased by the LNER in 1946 from the War Department.
J94 68006 – 68080 0-6-0ST MOS (War Department)
The J94s proved to be particularly useful on difficult branch lines. Their most famous workings of this nature, were on the Cromford and High Peak line in the BR’s London-Midland Region. In June 1956 three members of the class (68006, 68013 and 68030) were allocated to Middleton Top to work on the line.

Graham Farish and subsequently Bachmann have produced the "Austerity" as the LNER/BR J94 class for N gauge. DJmodels also produced J94 and austerity tanks in 00 gauge in a variety of liveries including BR as well as several industrial liveries. [4] .
Hudswell Clarke Works No 1752 68067 Robert 0-6-0ST
It has now been given the number 68067. The J94 class locomotive that carried this number was WD 71474 that was scrapped in 1971. The locomotive is scheduled to spend 2018 at the Midland Railway at Butterley.

The J94 was produced by Graham Farish in a number of liveries including that of BR and the NCB. Bachmann have recently re-introduced this model as LNER No. 8051 and BR No. 68051. This also features a chassis which runs much better that previously.

LNER J94 No. 68077 - Spa Valley Railway
Contrary to popular belief, 68077 is one of only two ex-BR J94 in preservation. The other 68078, is under restoration at a private site in Sellindge, Kent. Numerous industrial Austerities have been preserved and run in fictitious LNER and BR liveries but they are not officially a J94!

By this time it appears to have assumed the identity of BR J94 class locomotive 68067 even though it was never owned by BR (the real 68067 was built by Hudswell Clarke and was scrapped in 1972). The locomotive then moved to the Swindon & Cricklade Railway where restoration work was undertaken.
