The BPC MKI Tone Bender is a detailed replica of the original 1965 Metal Case Tone Bender pedal created by Gary Hurst in London, England. The BPC MKI features the same transistor specification as the original, so it includes 1x OC75 + 2x 2G381. This configuration has a unique tone that cannot be replicated by the often-offered 3x OC75 version.

The first production version of the Tone Bender is referred to as the Tone Bender MKI. The MKI featured a three transistor circuit that was based upon the Gibson built Maestro Fuzz-tone. This circuit was modified by Hurst to produce more sustain than its American counter part.
