How does XDrive feel compared to other cars? : r/BMW - Reddit
Jul 15, 2023 · If you live in the Northeast, you'll want the Xdrive, especially with that car. BMW's system runs largely as a RWD most of the time. The transfer case is basically a wet-clutch that can very quickly send some power up-front when needed. The Subaru or Audi have permanent AWD systems that apply power to all 4 wheels all the time.
Your preference if buying a 2023 M240i... RWD or xDrive? : r/BMW …
Aug 17, 2022 · BMW M240i is currently on my shortlist. Seen a lot of videos and the xDrive is pretty impressive but never had AWD vehicle. Lose 1/4 time going RWD but maybe lose some fun factor with xDrive? I live in S. Florida so I really don't need AWD for weather really. Never had a BMW either so just curious to hear from BMW community how they would go.
2020 m340i xdrive or RWD decision help : r/BMW - Reddit
Mar 14, 2020 · tl;dr I was hoping to get your perspectives on why you did or didn’t get xdrive and how it has worked out for you. I’m in the process of ordering my first bmw and I have everything picked out but I’m having difficulty deciding between xdrive or RWD. As the title says, I’m going with a g20 m340i and I’m leaning towards xdrive.
How can I verify definitively that my BMW is xDrive? : r/BMW
Dec 3, 2015 · They removed the "x" designation in favor of a larger xDrive badge in 2009. First it was a simple x in the model designation, then they removed it and added the xDrive fender badges, and now there's an xDrive badge on the trunks. BMW loves their excessive badges and marketing gimmicks now.
What are your thoughts on Xdrive vs the regular RWD? : r/BMW
Oct 12, 2017 · Thr RWD is so much easier to break loose it’s insane. If you wanna turn and burn, RWD is your choice. The xdrive just goes. No funny slips or feeling the rear end try and swing out. I’ve never had the xdrive get stuck but it did pull a bit strangely on some ice last year (compared to my slowbaru). Can’t really go wrong with either.
Thoughts on the BMW X1? : r/whatcarshouldIbuy - Reddit
Yes the X1 and the Mini countryman share the same platform, but a lot of people are forgetting that BMW owns Mini , and Mini has been known to have sporty driving dynamics. Also with that being said, yes it is 100% true that the X1 is FWD based and the X3 is RWD based. But when you are getting the xDrive (AWD), none of this even matters.
X-Drive 3 Series in the snow? Is it practical? : r/BMW - Reddit
Jan 18, 2022 · xdrive with performance summer tires will be pretty useless. All season, or even better, winter tires will be really good. I owned 4 generations of xdrive BMWs and I had zero traction issues on snow with stock all season tires (midwest). It worked pretty good on snow covered mountain roads too. So you can get
Your experience with xDrive : r/BMW - Reddit
Jan 14, 2022 · The xdrive will rip 3.1 0-60 times all day on the street, RWD isn’t even close to that… then you just put it in RWD mode whenever you want. Weight difference is not noticeable for daily driving. My X3M with winter tires performs the same in bad weather as my wife’s Subaru Forester, but it’s way more fun.
My experience owning a high mileage BMW 328i for the last 5 years.
Jan 4, 2020 · BMW in particular offers free maintenance for the first 3 years; This sounds great until you realize what this actually means is that BMW schedules the bare minimum necessary for the car to survive the warranty period. They defer or stretch out intervals as much as possible to balance the cost of maintenance with the cost of warranty claims.
340i rwd or x drive : r/BMW - Reddit
xDrive still gives you a rear wheel biased power split, I believe 60% rear / 40% front. You can still have fun with it but the best part is not worrying about spinning tires. Gets you off the line much faster. I personally, would want xDrive if there was a chance of driving in the snow.
