Oct 7, 2017 · Finally I got the hood open today. I ended up removing the kidney grill for more access and glad I did. With more access, I used a $50 inspection camera from Harbor Freight and had the camera positioned above the latch - something I couldn't do with the grill in. I then guided a 1/8" rod using the method commonly found on You-Tube.

Dec 25, 2015 · BMW Mamaroneck service center says this is not covered under CPO warranty because hood latch, stretched wire cable or handle are all considered as body parts. It would've been covered under original warranty but not with CPO.
