Jun 21, 2024 · Bereits heute bezieht das BMW Group Werk Steyr zu 100 Prozent Strom aus regenerativen Quellen, zum Großteil aus Wasserkraft. Mit der Umstellung der Wärmeenergie auf 100 Prozent Fernwärme aus heimischer Biomasse ist bereits Ende 2024 ein wichtiges Etappenziel der ökologischen Standortstrategie erreicht.

Das BMW-Werk Steyr (heutige Eigenbezeichnung: BMW Group Werk Steyr), betrieben von der ebendort ansässigen BMW Motoren GmbH, ist das größte Motorenwerk und Dieselkompetenzzentrum des Automobilherstellers BMW. Mittlerweile produziert das Werk über eine Million Motoren pro Jahr.
