Jun 23, 2020 · The n55's have seen valvetronic issues and the parts used are the exact same for the s55. Currently have a code for a faulty valvetronic motor. Anyone else had or seen this issue on s55? (Code p10e2) Hoping its something maybe electrical and not have to do the valvetronic motor & eccentric shaft.

Nov 24, 2024 · This problem affects all S55/N55 engines but BMW does not issue recalls in such cases because it may not cause "death or severe injury" and subsequently legal liability. Voluntarily notifying all the owners means loosing $$$$$ because the repair involves many hours of work and expensive parts like exhaust camshaft and ledge.

I'll explain my thinking as such: - It is a standard rate and assumes high mileage vehicles with corrosion/difficulty removing. - BMW prices on spark plugs are roughly $150-200 from BMW ($138 from ECS, for example) leaving $300-350.
