Dec 14, 2008 · Coming from an F800S, I think you'll like the R1100S the best. I've owned a '94 R1100RS, '96 R1100RSL, '99 & '01 R1100S's, and a couple R1150R's. Of the three models, the R11S has the best aerodynamics, most power, and was the most satisfying to ride. A bit more hassle to service, but a beautiful, classic design. Jul 1, 2021 · The R1100S had a reasonable seven-year run in the BMW lineup, eventually scrapped for the R1200S. BMW liked the machine enough that it also built the R1100S Sport and BoxerCup Replika variants, aimed more towards track action.
