May 31, 2021 · I did a turbo m20 on a 325ix. There's plenty of off the shelf kits to get the turbo mounted in the bay, but there are not many cheap "drop in" kits. You're gonna be grinding, cutting or custom making stuff like oil feed/drain lines intercooler pipes and what not.. A medium sized turbo between a gt30(small) to a gt35(medium) will net you 300+hp.

Dec 3, 2007 · Funny how in BMW circles that giant turbo is considered a street turbo. I have a friend running that exact turbo on a 2.3 liter Volvo engine that puts out about 165hp off boost, and about 500hp at somewhere north of 20psi, and he just ran an 11.8@123mph. Another friend with that turbo and a 2.3 liter 4 banger just ran 12.00@112mph.
