BMW really doesn't want people working on these pumps. I've heard from a couple mechanics that the pump manufacturer is prohibited from selling the filters via their contract with BMW. About 20% of the failures are clogged filters, 80% the pump just going bad. I have the same problem with mine, was getting F5 and F6.

so I keep getting the secondary air system flow low codes for all 6 cylinders (f5&f6 for a 1998 328i). I know this has to do with the black blower and the vacuum controlled valve near the exhaust manifold.
