Most people who have nothing but headaches with their Bimmers aren’t cut out for BMW ownership. The key is preventive maintenance—simply put, you need to fix the problems before they actually become problems. It’s not a Honda where you can drive it to death and only change the oil. The E46 is a very reliable car if properly kept.
