There are a number of ways to confirm that, such as material of Trans Pan (metal vs. plastic), location/shape of Drain Plug, number & Layout of pan bolts, Label on pan related to Transmission Fluid spec. (BMW Part# 83220397114), Label on Left side of transmission case indicating GM, etc.

Jan 4, 2020 · I had a e90 328i and an e92 335i and IMO it was the last series that felt like a bmw, great performance, hydraulic steering, it felt so planted, and with regular maintenance the car never left me stranded in the 7yrs I owned it. I just traded in my 335i at 85k for an Alfa Romeo Giulia. I felt like Bmw lost its way with the newer models.
