Apr 11, 2014 · The 328d has an engine that BMW has been running in Europe for many, many years. It was just introduced into the NA market, with the addition of a DEF-based SCR emissions system. The experience with this engine in Europe has been stellar, with no more problems than similar petrol engines. DEF SCR is not the cause of the 335d problems.
