Ruger did surprisingly well with the No. 1 back in the 1970s (the idea of a single-shot rifle was intriguing to me and many others), and I guess Browning wanted in on the action (pardon the pun).

Feb 16, 2015 · I have a B78 with serial # 1976Wxx. Can anyone tell me if this would be Belgian or Japanese. I can't read the barrel because of the custom scope mount holding the Kahles scope. I'm betting Belgium since it appears to have much better fit and finish than my m1885.
