Many mammals look very similar when they are babies/newborn/young: disproportionately big head, big eyes, smooth face, baby fat, stub nose - to us they trigger the parenting instinct so we don't hurt them and are more likely to protect them until they can protect themselves.

Jan 26, 2023 · Totally agree with you. They do not convey the same emotion at all. So frustrating. I used to use it a lot and now I feel kinda stuck, sometimes I'll use the blank face with only eyes open instead but it's not the same. They should just keep the new one but add the old one back as the "awww"/kawaii emoji.
