Aug 11, 2024 · 13ft Skiffs & 16ft Skiffs are two of the most popular boats sailed in Australia with fleets in NSW and Queensland. There are currently over 95 boats registered through 9 clubs and regattas regularly attract fleets of up to 45 boats.

We exist to support the growth of 18 foot skiffs, showcase some of Australia’s best sailing talent in the racing on Sydney Harbour, provide a welcoming club for members, guests and any visitors and to be helpful and active in the local community.

The 18 ft Skiff is considered the fastest class of sailing skiffs. The class has a long history beginning with races on Sydney Harbour, Australia in 1892 and later in New Zealand. The boat has changed significantly since the early days, bringing in new technology as it became available.

Dec 29, 2024 · Just about everyone is saying it's "anyone's guess" when it comes to predicting a clear favourite for the 2024-25 The Boat Club Australian 16ft Skiff Championships, set to be sailed at Queensland's Hervey Bay from January 4-11.

Many of today's skiff classes are based in Australia and New Zealand in the form of 12 ft (3.66 m), 13 ft (3.96 m), 16 ft (4.88 m) and 18 ft (5.49 m) skiffs. The 29er, 49er, SKUD and Musto Skiff are all considered to have developed from the skiff concept, all of which are sailed internationally.
