Athienou (Greek: Αθηένου or Αθηαίνου, locally [aθiˈenu]) is a village in Larnaca District, Cyprus. It is one of only four villages located within the United Nations Buffer Zone, the other three being Pyla, Troulloi and Deneia. Today, Athienou has a population of around 10000 people.

Athienou dates back to the period of Hellenism in Cyprus. Identifying the beginning of its existence, one goes back more than 3000 years ago, when the first Greeks arrived in Cyprus, establishing the first Greek Kingdoms on the island. Among those ancient kingdoms was the well-known Kingdom of Golgoi.
