Dec 8, 2013 · The box art for the VCS games was awesome, but so was the art for a lot of the 400/800 programs Atari produced. Even the 16K memory box had that unique 70s Atari art quality: I love the art for SCRAM: Most of the stuff from back then is frameable art, to me. Well worth looking at and studying.

Nov 1, 2022 · Correct. Early Atari boxes typically came with very attractive box art in the front, but the back typically had text, most prominently the number of game selection each cartridge had as well as a drawing of the controller that you needed to use.

Sep 1, 2014 · The height of the box can vary a little here and there. My template was an image for the box for Atari's Krull. From there, I opened it in Paintbox and made two separate images out of it. On one was the front of the box, the two spines, and the top and bottom flaps. The other is the back of the box and two flaps where the spine would be.

Oct 21, 2012 · I always loved the 2600 box art the most. Since the games were so simple that art really had to convey what was going on. I wish I would've thought about this during CGE, might've had an opportunity to get a little information from the Atari guys at the show.
