Jul 10, 2022 · Asgorath specifically is muddled on purpose because it's the dragons' own creation myth and the contradictions and wars fought over the dogma around it. See here. Tiamat and Bahamut coming from Asgorath's corpse in the Dawn War is the Abeir myth, while them being the daughter and son of Asgorath is the Toril myth.

You'll see info that Io and Asgorath are just different names for the same dragon god. You'll also see info that Io was killed in the Dawn War by the primordial Erek-hus and his two halves split into Tiamat and Bahamut.

Jun 22, 2017 · Asgorath is known as the World Shaper and has no connection to dragons until the Tearfall. Contrary, Io is said to had died during the Dawn War, split in half by an Admantine axe, his halves becoming Bahamut and Tiamat.
What is the difference between a god and a primordial?
Asgorath/Io is both, but (as creator of the universe) doesn't count. Tharizdun is close, but is not a Primordial. Kossuth is also close, but he's "not a true god but actually an elemental primordial". Do primordials need, desire or benefit from followers? Not normally, but Kossuth is an example of a primordial that benefits from extensive worship.
