The wood that Artek sources for the Forest Collection comes from the same sustainably-managed forest area in Central Finland, within a 200km radius of the sawmill that treats the wood. The majority (around 90%) of the birch wood Artek uses comes from mixed spruce forests, where birch trees only make up about 2-4% of the timber volume of the forest.
