Armando Trovajoli (also Trovaioli, 2 September 1917 – 28 February 2013) [1] was an Italian film composer and pianist with over 300 credits as composer and/or conductor, many of them jazz scores for exploitation films of the Commedia all'italiana genre. [2]

Armando Trovajoli was an Italian composer, pianist, and conductor. He was born in 1917 and received his musical education at the renowned Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. In the 1940s, Trovajoli played jazz and had the opportunity to perform with legendary jazz musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Miles Davis.

He will be for years the most appreciated Italian jazz musician, so much to be invited to represent Italy in 1949 at the International Jazz Festival: in Paris, he performs in the famous Salle Pleyel.
