Mar 30, 2014 · I have just purchased the Arcam P49 power amp and it sounds absolutely excellent with my new Acoustic Insight Phantom Source Floorstander speakers, only thing I do not like is the two pin mains input socket it wobbles this is not good enough on a £3K amp Would much prefer a three pin socket securely fitted.

Nov 17, 2016 · They P49 is a completely different amplifier to the P429. The P49 is 200W per channel vs the 95W per channel of the P429. The P49 could be considered for the rent speakers, but the P429 is designed for the height channels.

Dec 10, 2020 · I have two Arcam P7s and one of them I recently sent to Arcam for a service. The amp is getting long in the tooth now - I don't think it's even been in production for about 12 years so it is probably older again than that. From memory it came into production in 2003. So it's likely anywhere between 12 and 17 years old.

May 25, 2016 · I have the 850 amp powering B&W 804 D3s and the HTM2 D3 matching centre in a 7.2.4 system. My room isn't big, only 20 foot long by 9 foot wide and I rarely listen above 65-70.

Sep 13, 2019 · I have tried it with the built in amp and the Arcam P49 2 channel power amp, they sound very similar -detailed, clear and warm, but there is a difference a bit like a VW Passat and a Porsche when you put your foot down lol. Turned it all the way up to 70 before I had to lift the gas! It certainly doesn't feel strained or fatigued just the opposite.
