Jun 21, 2019 · I recently had the opportunity to A/B my set or AR9LSi speakers with a set of AR9LS speakers. I’m wondering if others have had a chance to hear these three titans of the AR lineup. I read a lot on the original 9s, but not much on their successors. Listening to the LS vs the LSI, I preferred the LSI.

Feb 15, 2025 · The AR9ls is no slouch and the amp you have will push close to 280W per channel at 4 ohms. Your external subs may do a better job with a 10 hz reproduction of an earthquake, but anything above that should shake your home with properly configured AR9ls.

May 20, 2004 · Unless someone is running one amp that is capable of PHENOMENAL amounts of power, you really need two "good sized" amps to do the 9's justice. Two of the larger Adcom's or Parasounds would really start to get you into where you need to be.

Jun 29, 2017 · With it's dual-dome mid/treble plate, the 9LS's probably image a bit better than the 9's (which are no slouch either, when it comes to imaging). Also, the 9LS should be easier to place, with it's front mounted twin woofer system. With it's side mounted woofers, the 9's require rear wall placement, to properly load their bass to the room.
