Aug 2, 2011 · A good quiet pump is the Aquaculture double outlet Walmart $11. Mine runs two 12"airstones in 24"of water. It has an air filter and a central valve block. 2 yrs running still strong. Lot of psI too. my hagen 2000cc@4psI can't match it's output running a single stone. let me know what pump you have and I'll google up a repair kit for it.

This consisted of about a 1 foot length of 1 1/2" PVC pipe stuffed with polyester floss, and with a barbed fitting on each end cap. This dampened the pulsations in the air coming from the pump. And that silenced the aquarium itself from humming.

Feb 25, 2015 · As soon as an air pump is on, it's blowing very dry air through the tubing, so it would always keep the tubing free of any condensation. But maybe in a humid area, people end up with condensation in the tubing, and that, somehow, is able to build up and establish a siphon under the right conditions if the pump stops.
