Apr 6, 2010 · Steel antenna mast is actually lighter and stronger than top rail pipe being made specifically for the purpose. It comes in 5' and 10' sections that simply slide together making installation easy. I wouldn't go higher than 15' and feel much more comfortable with 10 un-guyed although I was in the crazy crew that put up 50' with rings and guys on ...

PVC Pipe for mast? - RadioReference.com Forums
Aug 6, 2018 · Chimneys aren't the best for mounting antennas. If the antenna is small with wind load, you could be ok, but the bigger the antenna, the more stress placed on the mortar, and over time it will break loose. You can buy metal pipe, any length you need/want and using stand-off mounts, anchor to you house. As others commented, leave the PVC alone....
PVC antenna mast Vs. steel | RadioReference.com Forums
Nov 2, 2009 · PVC antenna mast vs. steel As N Jay stated, PVC is not the way to go & I seriously doubt that you would have to guy a 20' steel or aluminum mast, not that you would even want to. Once it dries up, I want to tie antenna pole made of PVC or maybe even bamboo to hook future antenna that is not too heavy. E.g. ground plane, 3 element yagi etc. Any inputs for such system would be greatly appreciated.
black iron pipe for a mast? | RadioReference.com Forums
Sep 3, 2021 · The plan would be to mount the base of the black iron pipe mast to the ground and then use one of those antenna mast mounting brackets that clamps the pole to support it approximately 10 ft up. With the 2 mounting points being about 10ft apart from one another I would think that should suffice to handle any leverage the wind might put on the mast.
