This is a very rare variation of Annona Nítida found from a recent expedition of the Acre forest. The fruits of the variation taste exactly like a ripe pear. Each fruit weighs around 1 kg each, with a large amount of pulp.

Annona nitida has a wide range, though is not common within that range. It occurs in areas where forest cover loss has been reported over the past years, but this is not considered to be a threat to this species at present. The plant is classified as 'Least Concern' in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species(2020)
