Hunter's Exam arc:- The 1999 adaption is the clear winner here. It was 10 episodes longer than its 2011 counterpart so that allowed it to shine more. I liked the Anita part in the 1999 adaption, it was a great nod to Killua's assassin ways. I definitely thought that Leorio's backstory was done a lot better than it was done in the 2011 version.
