Mar 18, 2018 · The classic “plastic bait” scent that brings most of us back to our childhoods is Star Anise oil. You can buy this as an essential oil (for cosmetics and grooming products) much cheaper than you can as a “fish attractant” and it tends to work rather well if scents are your thing.

Feb 8, 2013 · I know it works well for bass, just curious how it work's for trout. I know some guy's like to use anise oil, Is that the same scent as licorice? just doesn't seem natural and I would think it would turn the fish off, especially if over used?

Dec 28, 2008 · Usually use white. Did use "Crasy Dust" by Little Atom last year. Comes in 6 colors and scented with C-9 their anise scent. Non-toxic and made for Waxies, Mousies, and Spikes to consume and color and scent themselves. Worked Great!

Feb 25, 2024 · The best set up today was a tip up set with a small trout hook and a slip weight. I used berkley trout paste and covered the hook. I had around 10 hits with this. I didn't land any! I tried letting the fish run before setting the hook but every time I grabbed the line the fish would escape with the bait. Any help on what to do differently would be much appreciated.
