Why is anaesthesia not offered by default for IUD insertions
Anesthesia is never without risk, including death and permanent disability. The cost benefit analysis of using this for the placement of an IUD just doesn’t support its use. Especially when it would take longer to actually sedate someone than it does to place the IUD.
