ANARCI is a tool for numbering amino-acid sequences of antibody and T-cell receptor variable domains. Use the form below to identify domains and annotate them with either the IMGT, Chothia, Kabat, Martin (Enhanced Chothia) or AHo numbering scheme.

Chothia - is defined for heavy and light chain antibody chains only (in ANARCI). Numbering in the two chain types are not equivalent. Insertions occur at specific positions and can occur in both the framework and the CDRs.
ANARCI: antigen receptor numbering and receptor classification
Sep 30, 2015 · We have developed ANARCI, a program for annotating antigen receptor variable domain amino-acid sequences with five commonly used numbering schemes. The program can be run as command-line tool or imported as a Python module for incorporation in custom scripts.

ANARCI performs alignments of sequences to databases of Hidden Markov Models (HMMs). Those that align with a significant score are classified by species and chain type. They are then numbered with a scheme of the user's choosing.
Antibody Sequence Numbering
ANARCI gives the insertion codes as letters. Insertions at CDR3 are placed symmetrically about imgt positions 111 and 112. e.g. 111-ABCD DCBA-112. Kabat: is defined for heavy and light chain antibody chains only (in ANARCI).

ANARCI: antigen receptor numbering and receptor classification
Motivation: Antibody amino-acid sequences can be numbered to identify equivalent positions. Such annotations are valuable for antibody sequence comparison, protein structure modelling and engineering.
