In Greek mythology, Amymone (/ æ m ɪ ˈ m oʊ n iː /; Ancient Greek: Ἀμυμώνη, romanized: Amymóne, "blameless; innocent" [1]) was one of the 50 Danaids as a daughter of Danaus, king of Libya. [2]

In Greek mythology Amymone was one of the Danaids--fifty daughters of King Danaus. The family emigrated from Libya to Argos in the Greek Peloponnese but arrived to find a land parched by drought. Danaus sent his daughters out in search of water and in the course of her wanderings Amymone came upon Lerna where she was seduced by the god Poseidon.

In Greek mythology Amymone was the Naiad-nymph of the spring of Amymone at Lerna in Argolis (southern Greece). She was usually, but not always, identical to the Danaid Amymone loved by Poseidon.
