Amy Q. Shen is a mechanical engineer whose research concerns the rheology of non-Newtonian fluids and complex fluids, microfluids, biofluids, nanofluids, and their interfaces. Shen is originally from China, and was educated in China and the US.

Micro/Bio/Nanofluidics Unit was established in July 2014 when Amy Shen moved from University of Washington, USA. While continuing existing research activities in Microfluidics and Rheology, several new interdisciplinary research projects have been initiated, in collaboration with other research units at OIST and outside OIST.

Amy Shen is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist supporting those with eating disorders. Amy is located in Greer, SC just outside Greenville. Amy offers in-person and virtual services for those in SC, OH, and NC.

Amy Shen joined the University of Washington Mechanical Engineering faculty in the fall of 2008. She earned her Ph.D in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
