Amtgard is a world-wide organization dedicated to medieval and fantasy combat sports and recreation. We use padded weapons, fantasy and authentic clothing, and imagination to immerse players in a world of heroic combat, quests, crafts, and more.

The largest concentrations of Amtgard chapters are in Texas and the Central United States, but groups are found throughout the United States as well as in Canada, Croatia, Japan, Finland, Germany, Korea, and Russia.

Amtgard has a rulebook complete with classes, magic, and special abilities. Games and quests often feature charging warriors, sneaking assassins, and spell-hurling magic users battling it out against powerful monsters.

At it’s core, Amtgard is a Live Action Roleplaying (LARP) and boffer combat society focused on the Sword & Sorcery, Medieval and Ancient genres. Amtgard uses safe, foam-padded replicas of Medieval weaponry to bring to life the tabletop or video game experience many are familiar with.

Sun's Haven hosts the annual Southwestern Wars event, the only Amtgard event for Arizona, at the end of March every year. The park is also a co-host to the tri-state event, Crossroads, that is hosted near Blythe, CA along with Terra De Votum and Siar Geata in November.
