Jan 24, 2022 · Interestingly this tweeter replacement guide PDF from Amphion for the Two 18 shows the tweeter without the small circuit board on the back (maybe it's still in the speaker somewhere near the crossover instead) and the tweeter has a different part number D15003 as opposed to D20023. The PDF is dated 2018, but SX Pro uploaded it in January 2024.

To me the bigger benefit of the small tweeter, however, is the wider sweetspot - the S400 changes very little within +/- 30 degrees.

Dec 11, 2020 · IMO, Amphion should be one of the best monitor for mixing music with vocals, and it is rather enjoyable sounding speaker for pro monitor speaker. The last Genelec I owned was 1031, which used to be ubiquitous, but it seems small Genelecs are no more very popular in US, and I haven't heard any of their recent models.

Feb 5, 2021 · With regards to Amphion monitors specifically, it's entirely possible (and indeed quite likely) that any given mixing engineer is likely using them with room correction. If they're non-flat, but have sensible directivity control and low-enough distortion, then they could probably be EQ'd to result in something acceptable. Chris

Aug 21, 2021 · I gotta be honest, I really don't like Serban's mixes much. They're always weirdly peaky. They're +/-3dB through most of their frequency response (which is very alright, far from superlative), mostly devoid of resonances minus one peak which could be notched with EQ.

Aug 20, 2020 · Otherwise the house Amphion sound is there: lush, detailed, relaxing and enjoyable. Couldn't really fault anything except for deep bass, which isn't there, especially compared to the 3LS. A subwoofer is mandatory, especially for AV, but I'd use one for music too.
