We used to split our time between Tulamben & Amed but both of us very much prefer Amed. My daughter who also dives very much prefers Amed over Tulamben. Dive centres in Amed do go to Tulamben for morning dive trips.

In the west Bali, there is an amazing spot for you to snorkel or dive named Menjangan. In the north, meet the dolphins in Lovina, also some waterfalls are quiet tempting to be watched.

Tulamben is a small fishing village, 30 km north of Amed, about 20-30 min by road. As well as local dives off the various Amed beaches a notable attraction is diving the wreck of the USAT Liberty at Tulamben.

Tulamben is a 20 minutes drive (30 minutes by boat) from Amed and offers Bali’s most famous dive site the Tulamben Ship Wreck. The US Liberty wreck is a must see. Right in front of the beach rests the 120m long shipwreck of a US Liberty with the deck facing the seaside.
