Vivarium for an Amblypygid | Arachnoboards
Sep 12, 2024 · Hi all! I recently got an amblypygid from my local reptile shop. This is my first invert (with the exception of some poorly-cared-for hermit crabs as a child), so I've doing as much research as I can, but I'm finding that information beyond the …
Amblypygid (Damon spp.) Questions - Arachnoboards
Mar 7, 2012 · I have read all of the threads on amblypygids (Damon spp.) and I am getting conflicting information. 1. Can multiple adult amblypygids (Damon spp.) be kept together without being cannibalized during a molt? 2. Do you keep a water dish with the amblypygids (Damon spp.) or just mist and let...
Amblypygid setup | Arachnoboards
Feb 14, 2021 · I recently got an amblypygid, although I'm not entirely sure of the species. I'm trying to identify it. He/she is in an Exo Terra nano tall enclosure with cork bark, reptisoil substrate, leaf litter, and sphagum moss with a water dish. I was hoping that someone could critique my setup. I have 23...
Phrynus whitei care and enclosure advice | Arachnoboards
Nov 23, 2022 · After wanting one for a while, I found an Amblypygid for sale at the local pet store and decided to go through with getting one. It was advertised as Damon variegatus but I was informed by someone on Reddit that it is actually Phrynus whitei.
New to Amblypygi | Arachnoboards
Apr 9, 2024 · Here is a picture of the ventilation of the 3 gallon! Sorry for the late response; I was at school. Your new changes all sound good; glad to help! As for the ventilation, I am in complete agreement with @CRX. That is way too much ventilation and will likely cause detriment to your amblypygid over time.
Amblypygid ID help? - Arachnoboards
Sep 29, 2022 · This is my first time posting here so apologies in advance if I am doing something wrong! Got two new tailless whips a week ago, they were advertised as Charon grayi, but from my understanding that ID represents a vast number of species. And these guys honestly look a lot more like P. whitei to...
Amblypygid Questions (Phrynus marginemaculatus)
Jan 15, 2024 · Hello everyone, After months of research and waiting, I finally got my hands on an adult Phrynus marginemaculatus. I named it "Schnitzel!" It is currently housed in a ~32oz container with Styrofoam, since I heard that this is the preferred setup among many keepers. There is about 3/4" of wet...
How to know if my amblypygid is thirsty or is just doing fine?
Apr 20, 2024 · Hi there! Don't worry, just keep misting daily for a few days until your new pet settles in (avoid hitting it directly though). It will drink if it is thirsty, but odds are you won't see this happening. Many amblypygi are extremely secretive; I have a Phrynus marginemaculatus that I have never seen eating or drinking yet it is pooping everywhere and doing fine. Yes, they get a …
Amblypygid enclosure | Arachnoboards
Sep 27, 2022 · Is this a suitable amblypygid enclosure? It's 5 inches wide, 3.5 inches deep, and 7 inches tall. I drilled 16 small holes in the side of the container for ventilation, is that adequate? I plan on housing a 3rd instar Phrynicus orientalis in here, does anyone know how big it …
Vinegaroons / Tailless Whips communal? - Arachnoboards
Feb 7, 2016 · As with housing a vinegaroon and an amblypygid together that's also a very bad idea. Giant vinegaroons eat ANYTHING that moves aren't communal and will cannibalize.
