ALPAR supplies up to 200,000 free bright yellow cleanup bags to 160 communities across Alaska every year. Since 1990, we’ve given away over 2 million bags to help clean up Alaska. 2022-2027: cleanup bags sponsored by Northern Star Resources, Ltd. (Pogo Mine) .
2025 rings in the return of recycling outreach & education grants - ALPAR
Jan 14, 2025 · After a long hiatus, ALPAR is pleased to bring back funding for the purpose of supporting recycling outreach and education. Our goal is to divert materials (destined for the landfill or ending up as litter) to recycling outlets.

Apr 23, 2021 · Since 1990, ALPAR has given away more than 2 million bags to 160 communities to help clean up Alaska. In rural communities, the money goes to Youth Litter Patrols, which are made up of teenagers paid hourly or by the bag to pick up litter.
