Molecular Characterization of Almond Cultivars Using Simple …
Feb 2, 2022 · In this study, we characterized six local and 16 foreign almond cultivars using SSR markers to determine the level of genetic diversity and genetic relatedness among them. Most of the local almond cultivars were characterized by SSR markers for the first time in this study.
What Is The Difference Between Nonpareil Almonds And Regular …
Aug 7, 2022 · SSR – is the USDA grade descriptor and stands for “Select Sheller Run.” This is a mid-quality grade descriptor that allows for a slightly higher tolerance of defects such as chips and scratches.
The origin and dissemination of the cultivated almond as …
Jul 26, 2010 · Sixteen nuclear and 10 chloroplast SSR markers were evaluated for 40 almond genotypes including cultivated almond, 18 related species and 5 interspecific-hybrid populations. Results establish the value of SSR (nuclear and chloroplast) markers for distinguishing different genetic lineages and characterize an extensive gene pool available to ...
Characterization and diversity assessment of almond
Dec 27, 2024 · This study investigated genetic diversity and evolutionary relationships among 9 almond genotypes naturally growing in Yozgat (Türkiye) and its surroundings, along with 7 local and foreign almond cultivars, using 18 simple sequence repeat (SSR) molecular markers.
SSR allelic variation in almond ( Prunus dulcis Mill.) - Springer
Nov 24, 2005 · EST- and genomic SSR markers previously reported in species of Prunus, mainly peach, proved to be useful for almond genetic analysis. DNA sequences of 117 alleles of six of the 16 SSR loci were analysed to reveal sequence variation among the 38 almond accessions.
Moroccan almond is a distinct gene pool as revealed by SSR
May 2, 2013 · The objectives of this study are (i) to characterize genetically, by using SSR markers, accessions maintained at INRA-Ain Taoujdate collection (ii) to verify genotypic richness of the collection and (iii) to identify the relationship between Moroccan almond germplasm and some foreign cultivars.

Development of SSR markers for the phylogenetic analysis of almond …
One hundred seventy-eight (12.07%) almond SSRs and 497 (9.97%) peach SSRs were detected. The EST-SSR occurs every 4.97 kb in almond ESTs and 6.57 kb in peach, and SSRs with di- and trinucleotide repeat motifs are the most abundant in both almond and peach ESTs.
Development of SSR markers for the phylogenetic analysis of almond …
Twenty one EST-SSRs were thereafter, developed and used together with 7 genomic SSRs, to study the genetic relationship among 36 almond (P. communis Fritsch.) cultivars from China and the Mediterranean area, as well as 8 accessions of other related species from the genus Prunus.
