Al Garth (vocals, woodwinds, fiddle, keyboards), another Loggins alumnus (Loggins & Messina, also Poco and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), joined as well, from 1982 to 1985. Longtime drummer Billy Hinds retired from the road in 1984.

Garth has been playing on Glenn's records and touring as a part of his backing band since his first album, No Fun Aloud, in 1982. This naturally evolved into him touring with the Eagles as well.

Al was cursed with violin lessons by his parents at a very early age, but eventually had revenge by learning to operate the saxophone. This led circuitously to a career that has included work with such artists as Loggins and Messina, the Eagles, Soul Fuse, and others.
