Boers (/ bʊərz / BOORZ; Afrikaans: Boere; [ˈbuːrə]) are the descendants of the proto Afrikaans -speaking Free Burghers of the eastern Cape frontier [2] in Southern Africa during the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.
