
Stupid Santa Fe questions concerning their paint schemes...
Possible Early Yellow Bonnet: I have seen a photo of the very first Santa Fe golden gate pulled by an E unit (think it was an E6) with what looks to be yellow paint instead of the normal red Warbonnet. Could be a bad photo, could have been touched up for postcards. It's a black and white photo which makes interpretation rather hard. Zebra Stripe:

The UPs look similar to the CN numberboard fonts with serif on the bottom, but the CN forehead font looks more like the BNSF/ATSF one with the serif on the top! What also doesnt exist is the standard EMD factory numberboard font from the late 1970s/1980s. The font used on new deliveries to CR, Mop, BN, SOU, and KCS.
