It’s a relatively small 3 way floor standing speaker (roughly 38½” high by 10½” wide by 13½” deep) and heavy enough, at about 80 pounds, that for safety reasons two people should handle. Driver complement is an 8” paper cone woofer (ATC says 6½”, more on that later), a 3” soft dome mid-range (a rare creature indeed) and a 1” soft dome tweeter.

Oct 24, 2023 · There is no question that, between the SCM40A and SCM50ASLT, the latter is the better speaker, not least because of the SL LF driver. However, they are both excellent choices. I would go for the SCA2 as a pre, if you must buy ATC.

May 4, 2019 · But the SCM40 is the better speaker. The cabinet is the same size as the 19A but there are three drivers instead of two. The midrange driver is extremely highly praised. And you could have this in the active version for an even better outcome.
