May 10, 2024 · It was designed and built to provide the means to assess the performance and operational value of autonomous material handling equipment in tomorrow’s aerial port. The K-loader was built by adding sensors, cameras and self-driving capability to an existing 60K Tunner Loader operated by the 60th APS.

With a powered conveyor system and a height-adjustable deck, the Tunner Aircraft Cargo Loader gets cargo onto aircraft with hardly any operator effort. It can load at speeds up to 23 miles per hour and can easily be adjusted to suit the target aircraft.

This training will ensure the trainee becomes a qualified 60K-Loader operator— an operator who has the knowledge and skills to operate -Loader in a safe and a 60K professional manner.

Autonomous 60K Loader Tunner Project Summary: Improve the efficiency and safety of the 60K Tunner aircraft loader and implement a robotic control package for autonomous driving of the 60K Loader system as well as automating the transportation and handling of palletized cargo between the loading ramps and aircraft.
