5.45x39 vs. 7.62x39 | Glock Talk
Oct 31, 2011 · 5.45 has better terminal performance with military ammo, flatter trajectory, and atleast in my experience seems to be slightly, but noticeably more accurate. 7.62 has a larger bullet, and as such, is a marginally better sporting caliber, if you intend to hunt with your gun. But its a relatively short ranged, low power round, and only really suitable for animals up to about the size of big deer.
