Aug 8, 2020 · Hi folks, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a truck that I will have converted by AEV into a Prospector XL. I had initially intended to get a 2500 for the 5 link coil spring rear suspension, but when I looked at a door sticker for a laramie diesel, the payload was like 1970lbs.

May 29, 2019 · The Power Wagon is better off road, no doubt about it. The Power Wagon suspension is much more compliant and smoother riding. And my Power Wagon has lockers, whereas my Prospector did not. The Prospector was better on road, and for towing, and a whole lot more bad ass looking. The Power Wagon cost 1/3 less as well. Nov 26, 2021 · I don’t NEED a diesel but the only gas 2500 AEV will convert is the PW. Any thoughts on AEV turning the PW into a PW Prospector XL? Front and rear lockers, disconnected sway bar and winch would obviously be a plus with that package… OR do you think ordering a 2500 Laramie Prospector XL is still the way to go? Thanks in advance!

Jun 5, 2019 · Ive always liked this pic. Kinda puts the difference between the regular prospector and the xl version into perspective... The crazy thing is the xl’s are not lifted anymore than the regular ones. Still just 3” up front and 2” out back.

Aug 3, 2020 · An AEV Prospector XL is my dream truck...but I'll be going with a 6'4" bed Laramie 6.7 Cummins in 2022 or 2023 (after they introduce the new 8 or 9 speed HD transmission. I'll be putting a 4 Wheel Camper Hawk model on it and doing some overlanding. I will be upgrading the tires (probably 35's) and rock sliders and a few other things.
