Dec 26, 2023 · Differences are mostly cosmetic besides the engine harness. If you’re trying to fully replicate the Initial D car, it’s zenki. That’s really about it. I think just about all the zenki parts are hideous but it’s all personal preference.

Feb 18, 2004 · one difference I know of is that the kouki has larger axles than the zenki. my friend tried to put a '87 axle shaft into an '86 and it wouldn't fit. we had to replace the whole rear axle.

Jan 30, 2013 · the parts are interchangeable. kouki denotes later model (86-87 in our case) Zenki is early model (84-85) as far as bumpers are concerned, they are styled differently, ie: they look different. So pick the one you like better.

Nov 30, 2003 · Takumi's Hachiroku is Zenki, and it has RS Watanabe wheels, so you want to buy the kit, which comes with them. As a side note, AE86 were sold in Japan between 1983 and 1987, and there was a minor change in 1985. Before the minor change is zenki and after is kouki.
