
A7V "Hedi" Author: P Kempf, Edited: Charlie Clelland
The A7V "Hedi" was not a modified standard production vehicle. It was built AFTER the war, probably using the chassis from a Geländewagen - that fully tracked softskin transport version of the A7V. The lower parts of the vehicle was as per standard, with long mudguards.

Earlier, though, he says that Hedi might have been based on the old 524 A7V-U chassis or on an ordinary carrier, and that the body was "probably" mild steel.

With the German revolution going on, the vehicles were seized by Freikorps units and used in 1919 as riot control vehicles in Berlin and Leipzig. As one of them carried the name „Hedi“, they have popularly become known as the A7V Hedi. The vehicle with number 54 was used by the Freikorps in january 1919 in Berlin.
