The A66 is a major road in Northern England, which in part follows the course of the Roman road from Scotch Corner to Penrith. [1] It runs from east of Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire to Workington in Cumbria. [2] The road has been progressively improved with dual carriageway sections, but with stretches of single carriageway road.

We'll be improving the A66 between the M6 at Penrith and A1(M) at Scotch Corner. The project will involve upgrading single carriageway sections of road to dual carriageway standard and making improvements to the junctions along the route.
