ASTM A325 - Portland Bolt
Prior to its withdrawal in 2016, the ASTM A325 specification covered high strength heavy hex structural bolts from 1/2″ diameter through 1-1/2″ diameter. These bolts are intended for use in structural connections and therefore have shorter thread lengths than standard hex bolts.
ASTM A325 Bolts - McMaster-Carr
The most common heavy hex head screw, these steel screws meet ASTM A325 regulations for structural joints, such as mating I-beams and scaffolding. Material meets ASTM F3125 specifications for quality.
Properties - ASTM A325
Below are the approximate minimum mechanical properties specific to a given diameter of A325 fastener. Below is a chart comparing the mechanical property requirements for A325 versus F3125 Grade A325. As you can see, the requirements are identical through 1” diameter, but beyond that, F3125 Grade A325 has a higher minimum strength requirement.
F3125 Grade A325 vs. A193 Grade B7 - Portland Bolt
Dec 31, 2020 · What is the difference between F3125 Grade A325 structural bolts and A193 Grade B7 bolts? A325 and A193B7 bolts are among the most common, mass-produced bolts available in the marketplace.
ASTM A325 Bolts: Dimensions, Strength, and Material Guide
A325 bolts, made from medium carbon steel or weathering steel, have a minimum tensile strength of 120,000 PSI for diameters up to one inch and 105,000 PSI for larger sizes. They are commonly galvanized for corrosion resistance.
ASTM A325 Specification - Boltport Fasteners
ASTM A325 Specification for heat treated carbon steel, alloy steel, boron steel and weathering steel materials for bolts, screws, studs, threaded rods and other externally threaded fasteners, for use in high tensile structural bolting applications.
Structural Bolt Connection Types
Jan 10, 2015 · The majority of A325 bolts being made in the market are A325 Type 1 and are available both plain and hot-dipped galvanized. Type 2 was withdrawn in 1991 and no longer is in use. Type 3 is a naturally corrosion-resistant weathering steel that typically is used in …
