Jul 14, 2020 · Every time I notice it, I look out side and see and A220 gliding in. The aircraft is entirely silent except for the whale song during thrust changes. Watch any YouTube A220 takeoff video and you will hear it right as they push the power up for takeoff. Such a fantastic airplane and I cannot wait to get on it once this COVID nightmare calms a bit.

The extra thrust from bigger core would be useful, and worth the weight gain Otherwise, maybe take out the first stage in HP compressor to reduce weight and decrease core flow rate?

Sep 28, 2022 · Now, the A220 and E2 are only really overlapping (in terms of pax capacity) with the A220-100 and E195-E2; in this case, the E2 has the lead (221 E195-E2s vs 104 A220-100s). But, in the single aisle market, the bigger variant is the one that sells more, so it's not surprising.

Feb 9, 2024 · Airbus A220 cockpit was of course designed entirely by Bombardier and doesn't benefit from this commonality. I don't think that Airbus is planning to modify this A220 flight deck to make it common with the other types, the certification work would be too expensive. I heard that the current A220 cockpit is well designed and appreciated by its crews.
